Hailed as the most modern station in America when it was completed in 1939, the glory days of train travel were already giving way to the automobile at the building’s unveiling: the Pasadena Freeway, the city’s first highway, would soon be completed in 1940. Still, the terminal's handsome blend of Art Deco and Spanish Revival has burnished into a timeless elegance, and even the most jaded visitors can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia when exploring the building’s amber hued interiors.
